Our Origin Story
It started with a simple yet frightening realization. In 2021, our founder, Dr. Sarah Chen, purchased what she thought was a standard antibiotic for her daughter. It turned out to be a chalk-filled fake. Thankfully, the consequences were mild, but the shock was profound.
How could this happen in a modern supply chain? The deeper she dug, the more she realized the scale of the problem. Counterfeit goods aren't just about fake luxury handbags; they are about baby formula, car parts, and life-saving drugs.
FakeShield was born from the necessity to empower individuals. We realized that while regulators are slow, a community armed with smartphones and AI is instantaneous. We built the first prototype in a weekend hackathon, and today, we protect millions of families worldwide.
